How to Engage Effectively (it makes a difference!)

Posted by Lucia Campolucci-Bordi on

There is a BIG difference between commenting and engaging.

Taking the time to comment on anyone's post is a great thing to do, and we support that 👏  But there are a few ways you can make those comments even more engaging that will:

  • Building a stronger relationship with your followers
  • Show your expertise in certain areas
  • Make you valuable to pages that don’t follow you
  • Turn comments into DM conversations

Save and use these as a reminder every-time you’re reacting with other’s posts:

1. Always respond - To every single comment, wether positive or negative. This will show that you care about the opinions of your followers and will allow you to show start conversations about the post.

2. Comment meaningfully - Always leave a thoughtful comment, by thoughtful we mean that you’ve taken the time to read their post and are adding to it by sharing your own experience, a tip, or how helpful you found the post. These types of comments will make you a valuable follower to have, and will see this type of action reciprocated on your own posts.

3. Re-post other’s content - By re-posting other pages’ posts that you find interesting or helpful, you are not only boosting the community you are part of, but will likely be shared by them too and become visible to their network with a target following.

4. Follow relevant pages - When it comes to following others, you want to ensure you are following those that are somewhat related or beneficial to your own page, this should be a mix of pages that inspire you, those with a similar profile to your own, and potential consumers. This way, when you engage, you are doing so with pages that are going to give you something back.

5. Go into the DM’s - We have talked plenty about the value of DM’s, so if there is an opportunity through your engaging to take the conversation further with a potential business or client, use your DM’s to build rapport and build your business!
